When working as a software developer, there is a constants need for better tools to ease and facilitate the daily work.

 Here is my list of my prefered development tools, which is under constant revision:

  • First of all the Resharper plugin for Visual Studio 2003/2005/2008. To me it’s the most important tool, which adds great codenavigation, more refactoring and lots of other features to the Visual studio dinosaur. Impossible to live without, if you ask me.
  • The windows Notepad is so bad that any alternative is welcome. A nice alternative is the Notepad2, which when added to the explorer context menu is very useful. 
  •  Lutz’s Reflector and its many addins – The tool that changed the world with decompiling and analyzing of .NET assemblies in C#.
  • Everyone needs the abillity to zip and unzip. 7-Zip is a well functioning zipper, that is absolutely free.
